Product description: Developed for the custom installation and home entertainment industries, the T2 high-performance signal management system includes the satellite multiswitch, amplifier and passive splitter which are featured in this image.
Functionally, the T2 products are easy to install, with cables and connectors easily accessible. They allow for flexible installations and can be enclosure or surface mounted. Each unit is constructed of durable, aluminum housings and feature an acid etched, and nickel plated finish.
The initial approach to the design was based on gathering input from professional installers in order to best serve their needs while identifying opportunities for innovation. Installers heavily emphasized the importance of wire organization and their need to speed up the installation process. Establishing the performance goals; researching the competitive product landscape; plus determining a visual design vocabulary for the brand, led to a criterion which carried through to the end product. Thus, moving quickly from conceptual, sketch ideas into functional mockup studies enabled the design team to envision a solution which offers optimal ergonomics, as well as, detailing and craftsmanship to compliment high-end systems.
The T2 high-performance signal management system was honored at the Consumer Electronics Show’s Innovation Awards in 2003.
