Role: Design Manager for project and ID while at Refac Design/ Refac project team collaborated with PerkinElmer’s in-house engineering
The objective for the program was to develop a fresh, new appearance for an existing product and to create a new visual standard for client’s line of precision laboratory instruments. Critical assembly issues and ergonomic requirements guided the design.
The design process began by evaluating the existing product, component arrangements, and critical requirements. It proceeded with researching industry trends, developing concepts in both 2D and 3D sketch format, and delivery of ProE documentation and an aesthetic model.
