Product description: In an age where information and entertainment is available through many different paradigms, Robern’s NPD team addressed a consumer need by providing a solution for the bath. Research indicates that homeowners desire to listen to news, sports updates, weather, music or other TV entertainment while grooming in their bath space. They prefer not to have a TV distract from their routine, but would like to view highlights when necessary.
The LCD display is strategically positioned in the lower right- or left-hand corner of the medicine cabinet so not to obscure use of the mirror’s view while watching TV. A translucent silver film covers the display window and creates a mirrored reflection when the TV is off. There are other technology features inside the cabinet including an MP3 hook-up so users can play music. Also, there are electrical outlets for charging personal care electronics thus reducing clutter on vanity surfaces.
The design objective was to create a minimal, integrated aesthetic in its association with high-end audio and home entertainment electronics.
